 Oregon Circuit

Following the positive feedback from the August training session, the coaching team are going to deliver another interactive Oregon Circuit before we lose the light to the winter months.

"Oregon Circuits are a mixed training session which involves fast running interspersed with circuit type activities. By working on circuit activities and running in the same session, you mix endurance work with resistance work and so tone and strengthen your muscles whilst getting a double whammy of aerobic and anaerobic activity. You keep your heart rate fairly high throughout and so get a good conditioning session for the heart, with the added bonus of injecting some variety into your training schedule, working as a team and putting the musculature through a full range of motion".

The next planned session will take place on Wednesday 26th September at 18:45. at the Crofon Community Centre fields

New SGR Privacy Policy & General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

With the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 25th May 2018 Stubbington Green Running club can only continue to stay in touch after this date with members consent

It's simple to provide.  All you will need to do is to reply to the email which was sent to current members on the 23rd March 18 from the Club Secretary asking for members consent. If you have not recieved the email please contact the  secretary@stubbingtongreenrunners.net

Becoming a member of Stubbington Green Runners (SGR) means we will collect certain information about you which will include your name, address, date of birth, gender, email address and telephone number.   This information is held in a secure spreadsheet by the Secretary of SGR, and on the England Athletics portal and is only shared with other people in certain circumstances in line with our SGR Privacy Policy which is available here

MembersRun

Lots of us are getting together for “unofficial” runs using our club Facebook group which is great and we want to encourage this.

We believe there is great benefit in people of similar running ability meeting up for runs where the sustained pace is appropriate and you can work off each other in a group for continuous running. To enable more athletes/runners to have access to this type of training and in particular for those who are perhaps new to the club, we are introducing the idea of MembersRun.

This means simply that if you are planning a run, please post it on the SGR Members Facebook Group please title your post MembersRun, (or just include this word somewhere in the text), by doing this other runners can search and find your post. In this way the people will know what’s happening and can join in, if the run sounds right for them.

When posting on Facebook we recommend you say what the approximate distance and the pace will be as well as meeting location and time. This type of self-organised activity applies equally to all pace abilities, but runners must realise that they will not be led by a club coach or leader and therefore they are undertaken entirely at the runners own risk.

Group Run Training Courtesy of Julie Ashman, you can now familiarise yourselves with some of our regular runs, they can be found at the bottom of the page, here.
