2019 Hart 4 Relay
After the success of last year's Stubbie away day at the Hart 4 Relay race, the club is planning on entering teams in this event again. The date of this year's relay is 11 August 2019.
The relay consists of teams of 4 runners, a 4km trail route with 4 hours to do as many laps as possible.
It takes place at Minley Manor, GU17 9JU. The cost is £20 per runner, payable in advance.
The club will be entering the first wave of teams on 1 March so if you would like to participate please contact Marcus on email here. Payments details will then be sent through to you separately.
If you’re not sure about the date at the moment don’t worry, more teams will be entered at later dates, subject to space remaining available.
The composition of teams will be arranged by the Ladies and Mens captains at a later date
Lots of us are getting together for “unofficial” runs using our club Facebook group which is great and we want to encourage this.
We believe there is great benefit in people of similar running ability meeting up for runs where the sustained pace is appropriate and you can work off each other in a group for continuous running. To enable more athletes/runners to have access to this type of training and in particular for those who are perhaps new to the club, we are introducing the idea of MembersRun.
This means simply that if you are planning a run, please post it on the SGR Members Facebook Group please title your post MembersRun, (or just include this word somewhere in the text), by doing this other runners can search and find your post. In this way the people will know what’s happening and can join in, if the run sounds right for them.
When posting on Facebook we recommend you say what the approximate distance and the pace will be as well as meeting location and time. This type of self-organised activity applies equally to all pace abilities, but runners must realise that they will not be led by a club coach or leader and therefore they are undertaken entirely at the runners own risk.
